ECONorthwest Analysis Details Housing Shortages in the Face of Economic Growth
On April 16th, The Wall Street Journal published Homebuilding Isn’t Keeping Up With Growth, Development Group Says. The article details findings in a report just issued by the Up for Growth National Coalition that analyzes housing shortages occurring across the United States. The analysis, conducted by ECONorthwest, finds that "22 states and the District of Columbia have built too little housing to keep up with economic growth in the 15 years since 2000, resulting in a total shortage of 7.3 million units."
